Elderly Winnipeg man dies tubing

WINNIPEG SUN THURSDAY, JUNE 28, 2012

An elderly Winnipeg man died while river tubing on Tuesday. Emergency crews were called to Asessippi Provincial Park on the Shell River around 5:30 p.m. Efforts to revive the 83-year-old man were unsuccessful. He was rushed to hospital but was later pronounced dead. The man had been tubing with family members when they lost sight of him, and he was found unconscious, RCMP said. He was not wearing a life jacket. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death, police said Wednesday.
